Something of interest to all of you National Park fans – mark your calendar for Monday August 10th at 2PM EDT. Dayton Duncan, Co-Producer and Writer of “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea” joins the folks at PBS ENGAGE for a live chat to discuss the making of the epic six-part series. The documentary traces the birth of the national park idea in the mid-1800s and follows its evolution for nearly 150 years. The film comes to WVPT beginning September 27th.

November 10th marks the beginning of the 100-day countdown to the final conversion to Digital Television and the shut-down of analog broadcasting for WVPT and all other full-power television stations.

Beginning October 1st (tonight) through Sunday October 5th The Latino Film Festival will be held at The Court Square Theater in downtown Harrisonburg – brought by The Arts Council of The Valley.
A variety of great films will be shown including WVPT’s recent documentary production The Latino Underground – Sunday at 2:30pm (view a clip below) .
